Under the direction of Mordue Moving and Storage president Russ Adams,
Mordue Racing competes in the Central Division of SCCA GT-1 racing, the
top level of
amateur road racing in the U.S. GT-1 (Grand Touring Level 1) cars are composite-bodied,
tube-framed, pro-level vehicles based on American sports cars like the Mustang
and Corvette. They have V-6 and V-8 engines ranging from 550-725 horsepower.
On some tracks, speeds reach 185-190 mph. The race team competes at some of
the nation’s premier racing venues, including:
Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI
Mid-Ohio in Lexington, OH
GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, MI
Blackhawk Farms Raceway near Beloit, WI
2003 Season Preview
Mordue Racing’s SCCA GT-1 program is poised to compete at the top level
in 2003. The team hopes to win enough races to be invited to the Valvoline Run-Offs
at Mid-Ohio, the national amateur road racing championships. With some quality
wins in the coming season, Mordue also plans to race on several dates in the
BF Goodrich Pro Trans-Am Series, which is the highest level of this type of road
racing.

Since
2002, Mordue Racing has sponsored a professional racing team and has
operated three late-model cars in the Heartland Region of the NASCAR
Weekly Racing
Series.
On summer
weekends,
drivers
Russ Adams, Tim Lance and Steve
Lance can be found piloting the 700 horsepower cars around the
dirt track at Peoria Speedway and other tracks in Illinois and Iowa.
They intend
to be competitive in the 2003 season.
